Overview
The suction casing is the intake of a submersible pump. It sits between the motor and the first pump stage, and its open frame of ribs leaves wide windows through which borewell water is drawn into the pump. At the same time, it is a structural part: its machined spigots and bolt holes hold the pump end square and concentric to the motor.
This casing is supplied as a cast body with machined locating faces and holes. It is a standalone suction part; for a matched suction and motor connector pair see our V4-V6 Suction & Connector.
Because the suction casing is the first part water passes through, its openings should be kept clear. Many installers also fit a strainer or sand guard around the suction area; contact us if you need advice on the parts used in your pump design.
