Overview
The base is a sturdy cylindrical casting with a machined internal thread at its top and four castellated legs at its foot. In submersible pump and motor assemblies, a threaded base of this type screws onto the mating part and provides a stable foot and end closure, while the gaps between the legs allow water to pass.
The casting is machined on its thread and seating faces so it screws on squarely. The open centre and legs keep the part light while giving a strong support.
